Which Areas Of The Sunshine Coast Will Continue To Rise In Value During 2021
Over the last eighteen months or so, the value of most properties on the Sunshine Coast has gone up dramatically. This is due to people looking to live somewhere with a better day to day lifestyle than the bigger cities.
We have seen many people moving here from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and other areas. This is one factor that has contributed to the increase in demand, and therefor prices of homes on the Sunshine Coast.
Will It Continue?
Will this continue throughout 2021? And if so, then which areas are most likely to continue rising the most?
As with most real estate price questions there is no definite answer. We can only make predictions based on the statistics. In the last months, there has been a decrease in the number of buyers on the coast. However, the amount of buyers is still largely outweighing the amount of properties available.
Our rental market is notoriously difficult to navigate as a renter. The average monthly rents have often gone up a lot too. This, along with low interest rates is encouraging first homeowners into the market when possible.
Having said that, some of the areas that a most likely to continue to increase in value are those that fit with the type of buyers mentioned above. Those looking for a better lifestyle and first home buyers.
Lifestyle Acreage
This may include lifestyle blocks (hobby farms or small acreages) in the near hinterland for example. Properties with some usable acres, that make the most of outdoor living away from the rat race. Areas such as Yandina, Ninderry, Palmwoods and Woombye would match the lifestyle block category.
Young Families
For younger families, popular locations that should continue to increase in value could be Mountain Creek, Forest Glen and Sippy Downs. Other suburbs close to the heart of the Sunshine Coast with good access to the Highway and the beach should also be included. Home close to popular schools and sporting facilities will also remain sought after.
To be honest, we do not expect the property market to slow down a whole lot this year. There has been the long lockdown in Sydney and another dose of lockdown in Melbourne. This will only further fuel the desire to for people in those cities to look north to our wonderful part of the country.
